Dog Scratching and biting back end

For the last few days my dog has been constantly scratching and biting her back end. I gave her a bath and put some frontline on her . I notice tonight She’s bitten the fur out in places. I’ll take her to the vet asap but can I give her normal anti histamine ?

Might well be her anal glands are uncomfortable. If you can't see any fleas that would be my first guess... so defo vets.

On the other hand it is peak allergy season. My dog has cytopoint injections in spring as she has pollen allergies, but it's more an all over itch. You can give piriton (our vet suggested it) but I guess it depends on the size of your dog.. mines 26kg

PS... Frontline is not very good.. fleas are pretty resistant to it if it is fleas... you need the vet stuff!
