Recommend me a leave in spray conditioner for short haired dogs

Hey, I already use coconut oil but I really want something I can spray on that nourishes dry coats. One of my dogs has several allergies and her coat isn't as fabulous as I'd like. She loves getting brushed so that's not a problem. Any recommendations would be appreciated x 🐾🐾

Mane and Tail does a great job on my doodle x

I'd be worried about them being allergic to a leave in conditioner.

If its specifically for dogs it should be okay x

I use Child’s Farm products on my dog. As they are designed for babies, they are very gentle and don’t hurt their eyes if any gets in them. And the dog has a lovely soft shiny coat afterwards. It is not a leave in conditioner though

Put a tea spoonful of coconut oil in their food every day. They love it, it is distasteful to fleas and makes their coats shiny.

I bath mine in Alberto Basalm herbal shampoo and conditioner from the pound shop. The raspberry one. She gets bad skin from dog shampoo but fine with that.

@Heartsnrainbows they all get coconut oil daily, it's made a fab difference to my boy and his tear stain. I use the Alberto Balsalm myself, love it. I was melting some coconut oil and massaging it in the coats but with 4 its a lot to use. Im probably using too much 🤣🤣
@Mum2jenny I didn't think of child's farm thank you xx

My vet recommended Ermidra which has been great for my dog who had a tendency to dry skin and dandruff for a while.

The downside for me is the babypowdery sort of scent, as I prefer my dogs to smell like dogs, rather than being fragrant, but that’s personal preference and from the reviews, a lot of people seem to like it.

We also add salmon oil to his food

He has a lovely healthy coat that shines beautifully now and as a bonus is super soft.

@SuddenlySidney thank you so much. I'm the same, I love the fresh air doggy coat smell and biscuity ears and toes 🤣
Baby powder sounds lovely though xx

I started my dog on salmon oil a few months ago because he's 0 years old and thought it would help keep his joints healthy.
Was amazed at the difference it made to his coat. He's a GSD and it's never been shiny, I thought that was just because of the type of coat but now it's positively glossy!

CantBeArsedOrAsked · 04/05/2023 15:55

10 years old not 0, that would be silly

WoofWoofBeachLife · 04/05/2023 20:10

Thank you everyone I'm ordering the Emrida and salmon oil and using the coconut oil still. I'll start slow and low with the salmon oil in case of scoot 😆 xxx
