(Lighthearted) "Pawsecco" to celebrate the Coronation? Good grief.

My cousin's loopy neighbour has just dropped off a Coronation-themed DIY treat package, to make his dog "feel included" next Saturday.

It contains:

1 x 250 ml bottle of "Pawsecco 'wine for dogs' "
(Don't worry, it's a vet-approved health tonic. No alcohol involved)

1 x can of Lily's Kitchen "Coronation Chicken" dog food
(Because what dog doesn't hanker after the label ingredients of "apricots, pumpkin and turmeric"??)

1 x patriotic dog bandana
(judging by the photo he texted, I didn't know it was humanly possible to cram as many crowns and corgis onto a single strip of red material)

1 x biltong chew, in the shape of Charles's head
(which is in dubious taste, if you think about it too long)

He can't decide whether she's a little a lot eccentric, but otherwise just making a fun and thoughtful gesture from a fellow dog-lover
or
she's making a passive-aggressive point, as he's not exactly enthused about the whole monarchy concept and has made that plain to his entire street.

Either way, imagining the expression on his face has amused me no end.
He's a miserable bugger 😁

I really would like to see a photo of the chew 😁

Nothing for our feline friends?

Purplecatshopaholic · 30/04/2023 09:17

The chew in the shape of Charles’s head I could get on board with - my boy would enjoy that. I’ll give rest a hard pass, thanks!

Pawsecco has been around for years - the other stuff is a bit strange but I mean, it's good business!

Newpeep · 30/04/2023 12:26

The humanisation of dogs is big business!

I had to go to Pets at home yesterday as an emergency. I’m reminded why I don’t go there. 10% things that are beneficial to dogs (and cats). 90% things owners THINK are beneficial to their animals. We’re lucky to have access to several fantastic independent shops who are actually quite a bit cheaper than the big chain.

Wouldn't catch my dog wearing a bloody coronation bandana. She has more pride.

And a random tin of dog food would just go to waste, or more like to be put in the dog food collection bin that some shops have now.

I'm with your cousin OP.

Turmeric? Beware the orange poo 😂

@Theunamedcat
Must admit that was the first thing that crossed my mind too!

Were it not for the fact he thinks clothes on dogs are demeaning, he'd have bought his a "Citizen Not Subject" one instead.
