What's going on with my dog?

Took dog for walk in woods earlier, he started reverse sneezing/grunting sort of noise repeatedly since. Googled and thought maybe allergies to pollen or something? He seemed ok just kept making this weird noise, now I've got a 3 year old and a 3 month old asleep here and my dog who we don't usually hear from at night, usually sleeps downstairs quietly keeps coming upstairs, scratching on everyone doors, reverse sneezing/grunting. I've gone back downstairs to settle him half a dozen times in the past hour. Just keeps coming back up and making this noise wondering around the house. Making me worry more because of how different he's acting. He's never done this I'm just trying to stop him waking the kids up but also panicking what's wrong?!

Use your torch on your phone and see if he's maybe got something stuck up there? Poor thing! I wouldn't rub it or anything just incase it's a splinter or thistle type thing but I'd definitely be trying to see what's up there! Hope he's better soon! Oh god I hope it's not a tick (sorry, just had a horrible thought of how annoying having one of those latched on up there would freak anyone out!)

Was going to say the same thing..might be grass seed or a blade of grass caught up his nostril or back of his throat. Really frustrating for them and probably needs the vets help if he can't clear it himself

How's he now? Could it be kennel cough? I know the timing of it coming on is a bit weird, but may just be a coincidence that it started whilst you were out walking?
Our first dog was obviously uncomfortable and unwell with KC although subsequent dogs have dealt with it fine.
If he is still constantly sneezing I would suggest vet trip in morning?

It sounds like he has something stuck up his nose.

He needs to see a vet if you can't remove it yourself.
