Hi everyone,

We have a lovely Cavapoo who gets bathed and conditioned weekly by us and brushed most days. He's now at the stage where he needs a professional groom- hair growing in front of his eyes and around his bum etc that I can't sort. He also has a couple of small matts on his chest. I've been trying to pick them out as he lies on my lap each evening but they do Matt up again pretty quickly... His groom is booked for 25th and many people have mentioned we'll get a telling off if he has any matts. Is this your experience of groomers? He's not massively matted by any stretch...

Also, do your groomers routinely trim nails? I've been doing it myself but he's getting a bit arsey now so wondering if I can leave it to a pro...

The groomer will do nails if you ask.
Do you need to pluck his ears ?

Yes they can't groom properly if your dog is matted, they don't have the time to tease then out so would have to shave or just not do it!
My dog always has his nails clipped with every groom, it's an art to do it in the right place I think.

No telling off, sympathy and apologies if the dog needs shaving though.

Don't worry about it. They will deal with matting. I don't think you'll be told off Smile

I'm cool with shaving, thank you so much all. I'll keep trying as nobody wants tangles. I don't think we've been neglectful, he's just a knotty boy 😬 Pepple recently gave made me feel like we're awful for any matts too!!
