Or can yours beat him?

He's just eaten raw, frozen sausages out of a hot frying pan while they were cooking over naked flames.

He has a small red mark on the end of his nose but apparently burning himself was not enough to stop him from trying to eat the replacement sausages the second he thought I wasn't looking!

Mine tried to grab a lit cigarette out of someone’s hand, thinking it was a snack. Burnt her nose too.

Riverlee · 24/03/2023 22:00

What breed - Labrador?

Mine has discovered the bin as his f alternative food source. Yesterday he wolfed down some stale=scones which were at the bottom of the bin. I’m surprised he was able to reach them.

MegsLevante · 24/03/2023 22:10

My cigarette as a snack is a lab ❤️

Kendodd · 24/03/2023 22:14

My dog used to love cleaning up after the cat had been sick.
I don't mind, saved me doing it 🙂

Riverlee · 24/03/2023 22:14

Forgot to say, mines a lab also

OllytheCollie · 24/03/2023 22:48

Oh labradors. I miss ours so much .but did discover last week that if you leave cold pizza in a box in the kitchen our collie doesn't waste time working out how to open it. She just eats the box.

Baldrickhasaplan · 24/03/2023 22:52

Our puppy stole sausages from a barbecue belonging to another group of campers. Fortunately we managed to hide her so they didn’t know she belonged to us!

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 24/03/2023 23:11

Rhodesian ridgeback - ate an entire roast chicken, he managed to take from the closed oven. The chicken was cooking in the oven at the time.

OldBaguette · 25/03/2023 05:40

I didn't know you could cook sausages from frozen misses point

I hope his nose heals soon!

PurplePosies · 25/03/2023 05:46

My goldendoodle/bulldog cross is a fiend! She demolished 12 frozen chicken thighs and an entire block of butter one night. We're a lot more careful now! 😂

That's an interesting cross - what does she look like?

Bigminnie1 · 25/03/2023 05:55

My cavapoo would eat and eat and eat if she could. Luckily, she's too small to be able to reach the counter...

Autienotnautie · 25/03/2023 06:17

As a pup my lab ate one of those large cardboard box dairy milks. Cost a fortune at vets. 🤦‍♀️

He's two and if we leave something unattended or drop it then it's fair game but he no longer tries to take food directly from our plates so I'm viewing it as a win.

bellac11 · 25/03/2023 06:26

Whole pack of butter, in the pack stolen off the side. Thrown up all over the kitchen floor after eating

Did the same the next day with the replacement pack.

That's impressive!!!

Vet comes to our house and brings out a big scary worming pill, asks if I have some ham to wrap it in as dogs won’t take it. I just say throw it at her, he does, gone in a trice.

ItWillWash · 25/03/2023 07:07

He's a Beagle cross. He also loves his worming tablets. As soon as the package arrives in the mail he starts running through his whole repertoire of tricks in the hopes of getting his tablet early Hmm

I knew he could reach the top of the kitchen counter and oven. I've enough smashed casserole dishes and cereal bowls to attest to that but I never for a second imagined he would be desperate enough to take food out of a hot frying pan while the hob was on.

He also ate wallpaper paste once. That was an interesting phone call with the vet. She was certain he would only have sniffed it or at worst licked a tiny bit and the decided it was not food. I had to explain several times that he stuck his whole head into the tub and started slurping away. It was eventually decided that although it was not toxic we should probably limit his daily intake of wallpaper paste to 0 ml a day Grin

My old dog once ate a bag of flour, well ate/spread it all over himself and the entire house 🙄 current dog ate 7 raw quarter pounder burgers out of a pack on the side that we were waiting to bbq. He was sent inside in disgrace, when he was allowed out again he drank half a pint of lager. He is a menace!

PurplePosies · 25/03/2023 22:50

Very unusual, it was an accidental litter! She's super cute, very smart and unbelievably strong 😊

Dalmatian did the chicken out of the closed overnight trick when we first got her. Last we saw of it was the wings flapping either side of her head as she ran away down the field with it .

Same hound is currently laying on the sofa recovering from an emergency emetic jab from the vet , after swallowing a palm sized chunk of lamb bone without actually chewing it , having leapt upon it as soon as I opened the box from the butcher …

She's cute! I was expecting a yellow, curly bulldog! She looks too good to steal food.

DramaAlpaca · 26/03/2023 03:20

My SIL's dear departed lab had the unfortunate habit of eating worn knickers - which would then come out the other end, still whole and undigested. Horrid animal. I posted about this at the time and it made the MN weekly roundup email <proud>

My late spaniel once came home with a whole, cooked chicken in her jaws. I haven't a clue where she stole got it from. I never did pluck up the courage to check with the neighbours Blush

Beargrumps22 · 26/03/2023 03:57

Our dog eats cat sick too tho to be fair its usually just food eaten too quickly rather than actual vomit.
Our old spaniel would eat anything empty bins in a flash climb up and clear tables if you turned your back dad thought he would stop her by leaving a plate of mustard sandwiches out nope ate the lot without a problem
Her best tho was when a posh aunt was visiting mum loaded a tea trolley and on it were butterfly cakes while she was making tea dog sneakily ate the wings off the cakes leaving the cakes thinking no one would know!
