Socks.

Why? What is it about socks that make them absolutely irresistible to my dog?

He'll get them from anywhere.

He'll poke his head in to the wash basket to grab them. If you leave your underwear drawer open a crack he'll managed to get a fresh pair out.

It's insane!

Human foot odour, presumably to a dog's nose it can survive washing.
Do be careful to close those drawers and keep the laundry out of reach. Our neighbours lost a dog after it ate one of her sons socks Sad

Cheesy feet ? My dogs are the same. Washed socks or used socks, clearly retain a scent of the wearer. Also partial to a slipper or two. Just to carry, chewing days are behind us.

Mine prefers bras.

It's actually a genuine thing.

Socks, bras, underwear and hats are the things that smell the most of "us" - even after they've even washed.

Mine takes then off my feet. Very gently, but also very persistently.
