Brush/comb recommendations for spaniel/poodle cross

We have recently adopted an 18 month old springer poodle cross. She has the most gorgeous curly coat but there is some matting. Can anyone recommend a really good brush or comb and should I use a detangle spray? I googled and bought one but it just seems quite sharp and I don’t want to hurt her.

We will take her to the groomers once she has settled in, I just need something for now.

These are what was recommended to me by my groomer.

If there is matting they will need to cut it out, sooner rather than later really as it will be causing pain for the dog

Cut the mats out with very sharp scissors. Usually I get one blade underneath the mat and then cut up vertically to create two mats, repeat as needed then snip them off a few mm from the skin.
My cocker is a nightmare for matting between the pads if not trimmed so now I just keep them all cut short with constant attention with blunt nose nail scissors. He hates it, but needs must.
