Dog being sick (4 times so far) - would you feed them?

Hi all, looking for advice. Dog is sick every now and then if he eats too quickly but this is different, as he has been sick 4 times so far and is now bringing up bile. I was just wondering in this sort of situation would you feed your dog? The vet receptionist (don't think it was an actual vet) said to give him some chicken but I'm not too sure ....

Chicken and rice (or just plain rice) to start with is usually advised but it won't hurt them to miss one meal. If it continues please consult an actual vet.

Starve him (water only) for 24 hours, than re-introduce small meals of bland food. Cooked chicken breast with a spoon of rice always works well for our dog.

Thank you, to be clear, I have arranged to consult an actual vet as we are booked in later today. Was just a bit uncertain about receptionist advice to feed in the interim!

Hi he eats too fast generally you can get one of those bowls with the lumps in to slow him down.

How is your dog OP?

Sometimes my dog is sick because he has an empty stomach, i normally give him some cooked white fish which helps settle him.

Thanks all. @saveforthat he's fine now; thanks - I can only assume he ate something random in the garden that he shouldn’t have. We do get foxes regularly and I once found a small (cooked) bird carcass that a fox presumably had left there!
