Bloody diarrhoea after switching from Orijen original to Orijen senior?

I’ve just switched my 8 year old lab from Orijen original to the senior recipe. Unfortunately I had nearly run out of the original kibble by the time the senior was delivered so I wasn’t able to transition gradually. However, given that it’s the same brand etc, I thought it would be ok. I changed her on Monday and early hours of Friday morning she woke me up needing to go out for a very sloppy poo. The same thing happened early hours of this morning and there is blood in it ☹️ She’s fine in herself - everything else normal.

I’m wondering if it’s related to her diet change but then surely it would have happened earlier in the week if it was? I’ve got a vet appointment early this afternoon so will mention the diet change then but just wondered what you lot thought?

The ingredients in Orijen orignal and Orijen senior are identical there is just a lower percentage in the senior.

sorry so meant to add I would be very surprised if it were the food....

I think that's too far in to be causing the issue. Is she a typical lab that eats random stuff she shouldn't? More likely shes ingested something that's irritated her bowels.

You can buy pro kaolin paste from pet shops (it's all the vet has given me in the past for dogs with bloody diarrhoea so it's worth trying first if she is fine otherwise)

@IngGenius and @openingbat - thanks both for your replies. The vet said he didn’t think the diet change had anything to do with it so you were both right and I don’t need to feel guilty about it! He gave her an injection to settle down the inflammation and said he’s pretty sure that will be all that’s needed but if no better by Monday to call him.
@openingbat - he mentioned the paste and said he’d give her that next if she was still not right. I didn’t know you could buy it in pet shop so that’s really good to know, thanks.
