Toilet area

I have a small yard that my puppy goes to toilet in when we're not on a walk - it's become her area rather than the main garden which isn't ideal yet because of the steps.

Although I rinse each wee and do a weekly clean, I'm worried that it will smell in the warmer weather. Does anyone have any ideas? I thought about trying to teach her to go on a patch of rubber backed AstroTurf near the drain but don't know if that's realistic

If it’s a yard then you could at least hose it off with an enzyme cleaner, the rubber would absorb the smell worse and it won’t rinse off the same. My DM’s awful artificial grass stinks thanks to dog pee.

Is there any real grass the dog could go on? Ours goes on proper grass and there isn’t a smell. Could you carry her down the steps to grass?

We had this but by the time the warmer weather came he was of an age to use the steps to the lawn. I washed the area of concrete each week, with a dilute bleach solution, left it for half an hour, then rinsed thoroughly.
