Why is my dog blanking me?

I have a gorgeous 8 yo GSD who is my pride and joy. This may sound crazy to some (possibly less so to others) but he has never been away from myself or members of my immediate family for more than one day.

Anyway, due to changing family dynamics he "left" the family home for just two days to stay with my brother who has left the family home. By all accounts he had a fun time and settled in very well.

On returning back to his home, my GSD seemed to be blanking me and I couldn't really excite him for affection the way I usually can. A few of his little quirks and routines seem to have just disappeared e.g. without fail I will always find him sitting on the clothes I have taken off after returning from a shower. My boy seems fine just a bit off.

Is he upset with me? I'm confident things will return to normal but just a bit miffed really.

(He's eating, drinking and walking totally normally it's just his little idiosyncrasies that have been affected)

When mine used to return from boarding he would be 'out of sorts' for a day or two.

He loves where he boards as it's like his second home. He also loves us and his home.

It's just the change of routine.

(Ps how many times can you use the word "just" in a post)
