Warm dog blanket

I need recommendations for a warm dog blanket. My dog loves to be warm, he curls up in front if the fire all day and when it isn't on, he snuggles up to me/my partner. I let him out of his crate this morning (he's still a puppy) for snuggles and noticed how cold he felt. He has a nice thick pillow type bed in his crate and x2 blankets. The crate is covered except for a little bit at the front he can see out of. Is there a certain material that is better for keeping dogs warm?

Mines far to busy to snuggle anywhere, so when it's cold I pop a jumper on him. Not often I think it's chilly enough indoors but the recent cold snaps he's had it on overnight & brings it to me to put on him

I have a single coated breed. He spends half his life completely buried under blankets. His favourite place is behind the small of my back on the sofa, with a blanket over him!

When the temperature drops into minus figures I put a thin fleece vest on him at night. I prefer not to when it’s not as cold, because he will burrow under blankets as well and I don’t want him overheating (although he can get out of his bed if he wants to, as he sleeps in an open crate).

He has two of these blankets on top of eco/wool vet bedding and his big-ted to cuddle up to in his crate and likes to dig himself a nest, so he’s really snuggly in there. He’s warm as toast when he gets onto my bed for his cuddle in the morning too.

I bought a couple of Snugglesafe microwavable heat pads when we first got him, but he objects to the fact they are hard, not squidgy, so I use them in my bed instead! Grin They’re really good actually and stay warm all night. Lots of puppies seem to appreciate them, just not my little princess!

Mine loves the big Sherpa style fleece blankets you can get from Amazon.

He's always buried under a blanket or cover, even in the height of summer Grin

Vetbed is good and if you're UK teddy blankets from Dunelm are lovely

I don't know what type of dog you have but if he is double coated feeling cold is actually a good sign as it means the heat is being contained. Our border collie can go out in the snow and the snow doesn't melt on her coat, it's amazing!

Sorry just realised your dog is a pup so even if he is double coated is unlikely to have grown that yet..
fleeced blankets all the way, lots of them 😊

I have a German Shepherd so she like just a normal fleece blanket if anything. But my little terrier use to really feel the cold. Even a good blanket didn't really keep him warm enough, mostly because he would be one minute under it and the next on top of it, lol. I posted a pic on here the other week of him in his pyjamas, for that reason.

Another thing I really like though are those pet blankets that reflect the dog's own body heat back onto them. It is sort of like a reflective foil inside (like for Marathon runners, I suppose) but not nasty crackly cheap stuff.

I used to lay it on the bottom of his dog bed so we wasn't loosing body heat to the floor and then place the end over his body. Really snuggly.

Thank you so much for the replies and suggestions! The thermal dog blanket might be a good shout... I think my cat would appreciate one too!
