Urine sample

We've just been to the vet for a regular monthly visit (he needs immunotherapy jabs for allergies) and I mentioned he was dej king a lot and we both agreed he's lost weight. So we weighed him and he's lost 4.5kg.

So now, as our starter for ten I need a Uribe sample. I'm thinking a jug and morning wee on lead? Is that a good method.

In the meantime I am worrying about both diabetes and kidney issues if anyone can offer any reassuring advice, or similar symptoms that turned out to be nothing so serious.

Here's a pic for good measure.

We used a clean takeaway tray to collect a urine sample. DH held the lead and I pushed it under as soon as he started to pee (he pees like a girl which made it easier). However as soon as it made a noise in the container he stopped and pulled away so it was a once only attempt because he refused to pee again.

Hope your boy is ok.

Thanks bites shark. I have some of those so will try it!

I do too. He's only 4 so very much hoping for a long and healthy life ahead!

What a beautiful boy ❤️

I've used long handled spoons to get samples in the past. Just remember you don't need gallons of the stuff.

Hope he's ok.

Another vote for takeaway tray, which you can throw away afterwards!

I succeeded with the tray. Thanks for the tip. I'll drop it off tomorrow and cross fingers for a quick result that's good!

Anxiously waiting on a call to know if it's all clear or if he needs blood tests. I dropped it off first thing but know they go straight into surgery, so am being patient. Ish.
