Phenobarbitone accidental double dose

Hoping someone can help! DDog has been diagnosed with epilepsy this last week. she’s an 11kg terrier on
2 x phenobarbitone 30g twice daily
3 x keppra 250 mg daily

I only went and give her an extra phenobarbitone at lunch with her keppra. Question is, can she have her next dose at 8pm? She’s had it at 8am and 2pm thus far…

waiting for vet to call back but not optimistic it will be in time…

thanks to anyone who can advise. And apologies of dodgy spelling of the meds..

I'm guessing you got sorted but I just wanted to express my support. Our dog has epilepsy (2 years now) and I know what a responsibility it is to get their meds right. May I suggest a dossette box might help? We fill ours up for the week on a Sunday evening and as there's 5 of us, it helps keep track of doses and timings and eases any confusion. It's also handy if we take him out or if someone else is looking after him.

Best wishes x

phone these. They’ll tell you whether the dose is fine or whether you need to see a vet straight away.

Thank you both! In the end I contacted my sister (a GP) out of desperation who suggested it’s always best to undermedicate than over - so we didn’t give her another pheno till the next morning. She did fit a couple of times but back to normal now. (Her normal!). Vet didn’t call back 🤬
