Working Clumbers

I work my spaniels and have long coveted a working clumber. Anyone got any ownership perspective on these lovely dogs? We have had many cockers and springers but I understand that clumbers are a different ballgame when it comes to training! And is the shedding as diabolical as I am led to believe? 😬

I don't know but there is a clumber spaniel owner on the Bella & Duke facebook forum. I've seen photos of this splendid hound but do think they can be stubborn from what she has posted.

If you're on Facebook, join the Ladies Working Dog Group - I'm sure that there are some Clumbers on there (as well as loads of advice etc). Also on FB, you could try Beaters and Pickers Up - lots and lots of different breeds on there.

Yes stubbornness I have definitely heard is a trait! Thanks for the group recommendations - also looking at the WCSS. Lovely to see the working side of the breed brought back from the brink though. A world apart from the fat, jowly, unhealthy show Clumbers which waddle around the ring at Crufts.
