We have a lovely WCS boy who suddenly seems to be fearful when he hasn't been before. He's a typical WCS I would say. Clever, loving - loves to be in physical contact with you. Gets enough sleep during the day.
The last week though he's suddenly been a lot more fearful when he's never shown fear before. In fact, we had an issue with him not being fearful (forever jumping in rivers etc.). 2 things spooked him - we were walking past a restaurant (him on lead) and the back door swung open and a low cart carrying a lot of loud, metal pans ran out of the door. It did give everyone a fright but he jumped in the air and then froze on the ground. I did comfort him and he came round but he still gives that door a wide berth. This morning, when I took him for an early walk (still dark), he was on lead and someone came out suddenly from a dark alley and he froze and growled but once he realised there was no threat, he immediately backed down. He has also never stolen any other dog's toys/balls - he's not particularly interested in other dogs - and then yesterday he stole another dog's ball and was quite grumpy at giving it back (he did drop it when asked and backed away but I could tell he was reluctant and he's never been like that).
He was neutered late - in early December - under vet's advice. Could it be that filtering through?
I am going to take him to the vet just to give him a check up in case there's something wrong with his ears but he's usually very healthy.
