Does anyone else spayed dog still attract an awful lot of unwanted male attention?

majority of dogs seem to pass us without too much hassle. But all too often we get young dogs (usually male) who seem to really harass her and won’t leave her bum alone, frantically sniffing. It’s really stressful for her and me. Do others find this too?

Yes our lab gets this! Spayed over a year ago! Humped a lot too! She hates it . Not sure why??

Does your girl have any issues with her anal glands, or any suspicion of UTIs. Both of these can also cause male interest.

Some do just seem to continue to attract males though.

No issues with anal glands as far as I know. She is my first dog so I am unsure if this is just a thing that happens to all dogs and we need to deal with. As frustrating as it is. The owners seem completely useless and I have to manhandle the offender to get him off her.

Our neutered male dog used to get this all the time. He would literally get followed about my other male dogs and humped.

I did read that occasionally neutered males can smell like females in season, not exactly sure why it happens. I know they say with females that in you spay when in false pregnancy they stay perpetually in false pregnancy. I know this is t the case but I wonder if she still has some sort of smells that attracts males

When spayed young, they smell like bitches in heat, male and female.

One particular bad day someone screamed at me that I should keep my bitch on heat indoors. I picked him up (not easy at 28kg) and said look at his fucking cock. Not my finest moment.

Op, it is poorly trained dogs, they should be on a lead if the owner can not control them. You have my sympathy.

Over a year old. 3 months after first season

This is happening to my dog May. I’m actually online looking up what might be the cause because we just had to leave the park early for this exact reason. They were really after her today. It was stressing her out and me. I read that female dogs can still produce the pheromones that attract male dogs even when they are spayed. They also say it can be caused by other conditions.
