Today I am a good puppy mom. We have made it through the whole day with no wees or poos inside.

Don’t get me wrong it’s more good judgement than my 9 week old puppy being a superstar at house training. And I don’t doubt tomorrow will bring at least one lapse in attention that requires mopping up. But today I am going to be smug…because it probably won’t happen again for a few weeks 😂

Yay well done. If you can do it for one day you can do it for another Smile
Although winter puppies are waaaay harder than summer ones I think having to stand out in the cold and possible snow today.

I got my new boy almost a year ago and we had very few accidents inside. But I remember the horror of standing in a soggy garden, sleet coming down, while Painless Pup decided which blade of grass was going to be honoured with his 2.00 a.m pee . It got better!

Winter pups are better because you have to take them out which gives lots of opportunities for "make like a party" praise when they go!! summer pups can just wander in and out when they like! My pup 5 months will go on command for a treat! I'm still wandering around last thing waiting for him to poo though.... and yes, it's bloody freezing..

Yep I was right on the short lasting smugness, 2 pee puddles today, both warned about in her own little way and I ignored…bad puppy mom!

You are all right though, it’s fucking freezing and I’m wondering why we thought it a good idea to get a puppy in January!

We put a massive black tarpaulin down in our extension in case of accidents. It was there from 18th October until Christmas Eve! We took Sunpup out every 30 minutes for first 3 weeks, then hourly. Tarp meant it wasn't end of the world if he had a little accident and it didn't wreck the wood floor! Less stress but god it looked awful!
It was a good day when we took it up. Fingers crossed no accidents since 18th December ( yes I'm sad enough to keep a pee diary!) we still make sure we take him out every hour or so, and in the last fortnight he's started sitting by the door whining if he needs to go. He's 5 months this week.
