Will my dog be ok?

Hi, I know this is probably a really stupid question but my spaniel just stole a lot of cooked turkey. DH left it on the side in a box and she’s jumped up and eaten the lot.
She seems ok but is sleepier than usual and her tummy is making the of gurgling noise.
Will she be ok?

I wouldn't worry about it tbh, was there bones in it ?

I stopped worrying when I realised my dog was knawing on bones that he'd buried weeks before

Eighteighteen · 05/01/2023 19:47

Thanks for replying, no bones in it. She’s looking a bit sorry for herself!

Lots of dog food has turkey as the source of protein so it will be absolutely fine. Why do you think the dog wouldn't be ok? Does she have a sensitive stomach?

vodkaredbullgirl · 05/01/2023 19:50

My labs are gluttons too, at least there were no bones in it OP.

tocahairchop · 05/01/2023 19:51

I just noticed you said 'a lot' is that your concern? I suppose it may make her tummy a bit upset but that would be all I imagine. Try not to worry, dogs eat all sorts and have a fairly strong constitution!

Just prepare yourself for poopmageddon

Eighteighteen · 05/01/2023 19:53

Thanks all of you. I feel reassured. I was worried because it was a big box full and she looks so sleepy.
I guess she’ll sleep it off 🙈

Unless there was stuffing with onions and/or a coating on the turkey with onion or garlic powder, why would you be worried about boneless turkey meat? Sorry, maybe I'm missing something?

Palmfrond · 05/01/2023 20:00

She will almost certainly be fine, so just sit back and enjoy the copious volumes of gas she will no doubt now be producing.

whataboutsecondbreakfast · 05/01/2023 20:02

She'll be fine.

The gurgling noises are probably because she ate it far too quickly and is now totally regretting her actions until next time Grin
