Hi, has anyone got a miniature labradoodles. How are they?

The only one I know was in our puppy class. Lady bought a miniature labradoodle as she wanted a low maintenance dog. Poor thing soon ended up bigger than my dog and topped out at about 36kg 😅, loopy and because of the doodle needed professional grooming rather than being a DIY job. Low maintenance the bloody thing wasnt!

sweet dog though. I’d be really careful on your breeder and make sure they are producing consistent, predictable pups. Both labs and poodles are clever dogs with drive, so you’ll have something that needs to be kept stimulated.

Mine is quite dinky. She's nearly 8m now, and only about 8kg.

They're hated on Mumsnet, but we've found her a perfect dog for us. Doesn't shed and doesn't trigger my allergies, a DAWDLE to train, really affectionate, very friendly with other dogs.

My friend has 3.
One is small.
One is a bit bigger.
One failed to get the 'minature' memo and is the size of a donkey Grin

Nice dogs tho...!

Two working breeds so tend to be high energy highly intelligent dogs often with a very strong food drive.
Where I see the do well is households with time for plenty of walks and training. When this isn't done they are unruly and a bit nuts.

This is our 8 month old labradoodle. She’s about 14kg so big for a miniature labradoodle. She’s great and has fitted in really well w our family (3 kids, inc one ND and we both work, though I wfh).

I know 5….. they’re all wonderful (as all dogs tend to be!) but they’re all very different in look and personality.

One doesn’t have any curls and is darker, looks like a scruffy mutt tbh. Another is black but she’s started fading so even at 18 months she looks like an old lady with her light bits! The others are all lighter and more doodle looking… although one of those is massive but his sister is only tiny (girls do tend to be smaller)….. most are lovely confident dogs, one is nervous though, her owners did all the stuff they should do (took her out as a puppy etc.) but she’s just skittish.

I think with any cross you get an individual, so it’s tricky to say what they’re like. We have a Shih Tzu cross… the cross, is partly collie (10% collie). She is a collie on the inside (ball obsessed, smart, needs a lot of stimulation and walks…. Probably why she was given up to dogstrust!! She’s nothing like any other Shih Tzu’s we know)

I have a Labradodle, he is meant to be normal size but has short legs and wiry hair! Doesn’t look like those stereotypical doodles but attitude sure is there!

I know two.

One is tiny - about the size of a mini poodle. Has the poodle coat and is very sweet.

One missed the memo about being miniature and is almost the size of a standard poodle Grin the owner bought him to have a small companion round the house 🙈
