How do I stop this?

6 month old cocker spaniel - airily calm for the breed but she goes absolutely nuts when dogs or animals come on the telly! Barks and howls - tail wagging all the time though!

How can I minimise this?

What do you want her to do instead?

What ever you would prefer her to do practice and reward when the animals are not on tv when the behaviour is learned and solid then do it when animals are on tv.

Eg you want her to lie on her mat. So train this give it a cue and reward heavily for being on her mat. When animals come on tv ask her to go to her mat and reward heaviy.

If you cant be asked just put her in another room if you are watching animal programs.
