Reporting ear cropping

There’s a local breeder by me who has been cropping his xl bullies ears for years. He’s not even hiding it on his social media. It goes back to 2019 where he’s bred pups that he’s kept and now he’s breeding those pups (all cropped). I can’t seem to report without having to give my details :( I don’t know what to do but I’ve just seen one of his puppies knocked out on ketamine and it’s ear in bits and I don’t know what to do

ring nspcc and tell them the above.

I’ve tried to make a report and they would let me start without me giving my name/address etc. This man is known to me so not giving any details

ring nspcc and tell them the above.

NSPCA. But yes report and keep reporting. You can be anonymous.

alexdgr8 · 22/11/2022 20:26

or crimestoppers if you really want to be anon.

DesignerRecliner · 22/11/2022 20:27

Ring the RSPCA and the local police

alexdgr8 · 22/11/2022 20:28

yes, sorry, obviously more of an animal cruelty issue rather than children's !

Ihatethenewlook · 22/11/2022 20:28

This has happened before when it was meant to be anon and they knew exactly what it was. We had to move after 3 years of pure abuse

Is it considered a serious crime? Is it even worth reporting?

Police. Yes it's completely illegal under the Animal Welfare Act. Do it as soon as possible so they can catch him red handed. Once police have been called also report to RSPCA so they can get involved and prosecute. Good luck

Ihatethenewlook · 22/11/2022 20:35

I don’t trust phoning the police. I’ve just phoned the RSPCA but apparently they don’t open until 8 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ll try again tomorrow

Im trying to do an online report but nothings coming up with anything close to ear cropping

I think you'll be better calling them rather than doing it online. While they will take your personal details, these won't be released to the perpetrator unless it comes out in Court, by which time he'll be locked up.

This was an RSPCA report on ear cropping in 2021: www.rspca.org.uk/-/news-huge-rise-in-reports-about-ear-cropping

You could try reporting through through Crime Stoppers as you can do that anonymously. It is a cruel thing to do - newborn pups having their ears cut off that will cause longer term problems for them.
