Pumpkin for post op dog?

HeelsOnFire · 02/11/2022 10:03

My dog has had an operation to remove a sock from his intestines.

I have instructions to feed him a bland diet - chicken, eggs, rice. I have a pumpkin left over from Halloween, I know in general that cooked pumpkin is good for dogs, but just wanted to check that it would be ok after a gastro-intestinal operation?

Thank you

I’d think too much fibre following an op like than and would stick to the chicken, egg, rice suggested.

Thank you!
I did wonder if it would be too much.

You could freeze the cooked pumpkin in icecube trays or similar to portion for later use though.

Far too much fibre.

Yes I’ll do that, thanks!
