Dog ramp for the car/sofa & bed

Hi,

I'm hoping someone with experience can please advise me. My cockerpoo has a hip issue, and under the vets care. I want to make it easier for him to access the car. I have a Ford fiesta, so which ramp would be better for him to access the side door? Not the boot, because it's too small. Also he could do with another for the sofa and bed. Any advice will be appreciated. I feel like it's easily an expensive mistake to make. There are so many types and they're not cheap!

Car ramps are designed for boots, I’m not sure you’d find one for side doors because they’d not be stable at the top.

i looked into them for my rottie with dodgy elbows and they all seemed a bit rubbish, so I just went for a sturdy harness and hoicking him in.

Though I’m surprised you can’t fit a cockapoo in the boot tbh, as it was a fiesta I had.

Thanks @tabulahrasa that's good to know. I'm off to research harnesses. Which make do you have? 😊

I just used a ruffwear one because he went in the boot, you’ll want a crash tested one if you’re using the back seat though.

I meant to say, you get stairs for furniture, that’s what I’d go for indoors I think, they’re usually for little dogs like dachshunds, so although stairs are bad for joints, they’re smaller than people stairs and you’re avoiding the big up and down jump.

I fit a Labrador in the boot of a Fiesta! Inner Wolf do a wonderful set of folding aluminium steps. Not just the frame but the whole thing. They aren't cheap but when PainlessPup is too creaky to jump in, that's what I shall get. They fold to the size of a briefcase.

Thats great and so helpful, thank you @Spanielsarepainless and @tabulahrasa My husband said the boot was too small?! Now I'm questioning it, I shall go empty it out when the rain stops and look for myself. Great tip about the small steps for the sofa and bed, think that would be helpful. Did place a stool there, but he's avoiding them, instead of using them!
