Muzzle and halti head collar

I currently use a halti head collar with my boxer as she pulls while on the lead. Has anyone ever used a muzzle too with one of these? She can't be trusted when other dogs or people come near her. She's the kindest gentlest dog when in the house but is aggressive out of the house, only when I walk her though not when husband does!

Me.

What type of muzzle will go with it?

I use a basket muzzle. Actually mine isn’t a Halti but is a controlling head collar.

Mine is a stone swallower.

Ah right thank you so I'm assuming the muzzle goes over the head collar then. Going to purchase one now. She's so reactive and I would hate her to bite someone out of fear

Please make sure you get a basket/baskerville style for walks so she can still breathe/drink etc :)

You could also look on Facebook at "Muzzle Up Pup! The Pro-Muzzle Community" if you wanted or needed any specific advice.

Thank you I will do

This is really common for greyhounds to have both.

Halti head collar on first then a baskerville muzzle Smile

Thanks I'm just trying to see which muzzle is best for a boxer

The Baskerville ultra muzzle is better shaped for short nosed dogs, I think Mikki do a similar one.

I've not tried this type but they are made to measure so might be easier to get a good fit.

You said she only shows signs of aggression when it's you walking her - do you think she is perhaps guarding you ? Might be worth trying to work with a trainer to get to the bottom of the behaviour
