Waterproof sofa covers

Wondering if anyone with dogs/cats has found a suitable waterproof sofa cover that protects from wee?

One of my dogs does have the occasional accident and I want to protect the new sofa.

Everything I've found online that's branded as waterproof says not actually waterproof in the reviews. Has anyone found a good product for this?

Can you not use a mattress protector? I used one on our sofa when I was potty training DD any moons ago.

Hi, Just wondering if you ever found one as we are seeing the same in all the reviews for supposedly waterproof sofa covers.

When my (now deceased) cat got very elderly and incontinent I put disposable adult incontinence pads across the sofa cushions (overlapping, tucked in) and then covered them with a blanket. When I could see/smell she'd had an accident I'd dispose of the soiled ones and wash the blanket. Not much fun, but they did work so long as you keep an eye on them and dispose of any that have been 'used'.
