Any recommendations for GR puppies?

Sudden and heartbreaking death of our cat has brought forward our plans to get a puppy, I know we need to find a very reputable breeder and may well have to wait a while for a puppy to become available - does anyone have a good recommendation to get me started? In SE but willing to travel

Sorry to hear about your cat 😭
Take a look on champdogs. You may need to sign up for premium to get first dibs on the new litter ads (£10 per annum?)
We got our goldie this way last summer. We are also in the SE and traveled to Devon for him :-)

The following advice is posted on the Scottish GR page, highly recommended you ask to join that group, that way you know all puppies come from health checked parents and responsible breeders:
Anyone looking for a puppy should join the Facebook group Golden Retrievers - Sourcing Reputable Breeders UK, where litters are checked out and approved, and breeders have to agree not to sell for above average prices.

We will need photos!

Thanks this is super helpful - does Assured Breeder from the kennel club mean anything? We’re just looking for a lovely family dog, not one to show or breed

@KobaniDaughters As PP recommended I would use champ dogs as it has health test information. Assured breeder from kennel club - not sure exactly what this means but the kennel club also has health test information and inbreeding coefficient information. I would look for a breeder who has done the health tests and chosen the mate carefully.
When I was choosing a GR puppy I looked at both champ dogs and kennel club information. Goldens can potentially have hip and elbow problems so it was important for me to ensure that this was minimised as much as possible - as well as checking that the breeder had been responsible. I chose a working golden not show golden, normally dark golden/red rather than cream, and probably a more active dog - on champdogs you can filter by type show, working, dual purpose.
Great choice, they are amazing dogs - but sorry about your cat. I also had cats before a dog - dogs are more work!

Had a Goldie from chsmp dogs earlier this year, she's the greatest.

Checked all the hip etc scores.

Good luck with your search and condolences on the passing on your cat.

And yes photos please.

Here's on on my pup just after we had her
