Infected wound

I took my healthy and happy dog to the vets after being told by our dog sitter that she was very worried about the amounts she drinks.(we had her tested a while ago so we weren’t worried, but the dog sitter made me doubt everything).

Whilst there, they took my dog off for a blood test, taken from her neck. Where they shaved her is now infected & weeping,
causing great discomfort. After the blood tests and urine test all came back clear, I feel completely stupid and awful for putting my dog through all this.

She has iodine and antibiotics to help her heal, but it’s already 3 days later and she’s still
hiding under the sofa and crying. Is there anything else I should be doing to help
her?

Has she not been given any painkillers?

If it is straight iodine you are using, that hurts and you need to use Betadine, which is a modified painless form of iodine. I usually clean wounds on my dog with diluted Hibiscrub and spray them with an antiseptic for animal use (both obtainable online). If it doesn't clear up soon, see a different vet (practice) as sounds as though they cut her when shaving her - not good. When healing, dog wounds often look pink/red but wet - that is ok. It is just granulation tissue.
