Pure Pet food

I’ve two dogs - one 4 yo who is a bit on the lazy side and needs to lose a bit of weight and one crazy 10 year old JRT cross who thinks she’s a puppy still- very energetic and starving all the time.
She’s had vet checks bloods etc but her appetite and dandruffy itchy fur could be dietary related.
I thought I’d give pure pet food a go- it arrived yesterday and looks like cuppa soup 🤢 but dogs wolfed it down.
they used to both be on AATU kibble before and I’m now wondering if the lack of chewing isn’t going to be good for their teeth. They get natural chews during the day too so do get to have something for their teeth.
anyones dogs been on this - how do they/you find it?

It shouldn’t be that runny surely? I’d check with them that you haven’t had a bad batch?

on the teeth I’d try and brush once a week and give an ostrich bone or similar every few days. It does depend on the breed though- what breed is the 4 year old? Some breeds are more likely to have poor teeth so need more maintenance

It’s not runny just a bit of an odd consistency.
the 4yo is a rescue with not so great teeth

The cuppa soup reference was before you add the water rather than after. It’s more like a strange lumpy paste

I use this one, it is completely different to what we are used to with the conventional style biscuits etc but cant complain given the nutritional benefits. My boy has never looked better! It took a fair few goes to get the consistency to how I liked to see it mind you but thats by the by when he enjoys it and its so good for him 😂 Whichever pet food company can crack the " roast dinner on a plate " visual then theyre onto a winner but seriously, I wouldnt worry too much about the appearance, after all the biscuits or raw meat that they usually have doesnt look any more appealing ( in my opinion anyway ).
A good point they made with me regarding the teeth was that obviously biscuits didnt clean the teeth before, just helped keep some food off them so essentially no different to ensuring to use tough chew toys, rope toys, dental aids etc to suppliment the diet ( yes, regularly hygienist trips would be the ideal but we all know how well that goes down with our pooches 🤦‍♀️😂 ).
