We've had our puppy nearly four weeks.

I've torn my tricep throwing her ball and now can't use my right arm!!

What injuries have you suffered in the name of being a dog-owner?

Recent pics just because ❤️

Concussion. Bent down to pick up the ball when I was playing with our springer and she collided with my cheekbone trying to get to it before I did. Knocked me clean off my feet then bounced all over me with joy because I was at her level 🙈

Greatest dog in the world (if your aim for a dog was shaggy, good looking and completely devoid of brain cells) but had the heaviest chew you'd ever known and could shred a tennis ball in 5 seconds, leaving himself with a very attractive set of beard extensions in tennis ball yellow...

...so as a result we had to buy the really really indestructible balls - the little bugger brought it back for me to throw again - dropped it on my toe and nearly broke my foot!

...same creature was responsible for me getting a tick on my tit after he decided to try to shove his head down every rabbit hole in Scotland (MIL had to help remove it)

...same bugger also managed to pull me over when I was dog walking in the snow and ice, meaning I slipped over and landed on the full poo bag I was carrying at the time.

He's incredibly missed since he died a couple of years ago - fantastic dog, incredibly loyal but thick as mince and gorgeous with it.

Loads, I'm surprised I survived the 7 years of my lab's extended puppyhood!

The most serious/painful ones were a broken wrist and fractured ribs.

The broken wrist happened when he spotted a discarded sandwich down a slope when on the lead. The lead was twisted round my wrist so I couldn't let go when he dashed off. I fell over and he dragged me along with him, arm twisting as we went.

Broke my ribs when he tried to jump over a wire fence onto railway line and got stuck on top balancing precariously and shrieking with the wire digging into his stomach. I don't know how I did it, he was a big dog, but I managed to haul him off it and fell backwards with dog on top of me on to a large stone which broke my ribs.

Just remembered another, perhaps the most painful and frightening incident.

Lovely relaxing off lead walk along a grassy path by the river. Dog has a poo. As I'm absent mindedly picking it up and tying the bag my hand feels itchy, I look down and the back of my hand and forearm are covered with wasps.
Dog had poo'd on a wasps nest. They were mad as hell and blamed me!

I ran and the wasps came with me, stinging everywhere, crawling under my clothes, over my face trying to get in my eyes and mouth and ears.
It was a week before I could use my hands, they were so swollen and painful and my face was the stuff of nightmares for longer than that.

Dog was absolutely fine. Not even one sting.

Broke my ankle falling over the dog backwards did realise he was right behind me. He was fine.

A bloody nose. As a teen I was on the beach kneeling building a sand castle. A neighbours GSD was racing around with ours and for some reason ran at me and leaped clean over me. Our slightly chubby Labrador decided to follow it and hit me in the back of the head which was thrown forward and bonked my nose. 😂

@DorchaAndLouis that wasp one is the stuff of nightmares!!

DD is currently sporting a massive bruise on her bum as we arrived home last night to next door’s cat sitting outside the house, as she likes to do to wind the dog up. Dog took off after it and DD was holding the lead and didn’t have much choice but to follow and fall over.
