Does anyone use and can recommend anywhere to get prescription flea/worm treatment online that's cheaper than the vets? Thank you

When your dog has its next check up you ask for a private prescription. Ours charges £20. I have cats not dogs but it's the same principle.

This is valid for 6 months. You can get the flea treatment from any online dispensary for animals.

I use the same prescription at various dispensers. They ask for a scanned copy of the document but as there doesn't seem to be a national database you can use it continuously until it expires.

This way I can get enough flea treatment at reduced prices to last 2 years. Then I repeat the procedure.

Thank you that is really helpful, I'll ask the vets

Get a prescription for worm treatment and go to a pharmacy. It's cheaper.

As for fleas, you should really only treat if your dog has them. The buggers get resistant to pesticides, it's not good for your dogs skin and you'll save some money.

If you are worried, do the same as you would do for nits: tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner = the doggy version of course!

I use itch.com
And I find them great tbh

Ps my dogs skin is fine and (fingers crossed) she doesn't yet seem immune to it and been using for about five years. I would much rather prevent fleas than leave her to catch them and then look for a solution.

I might have a 20% off referral code kicking about in my email somewhere. Let me know if you'd like me to check x

You need a prescription one the shop bought ones dont work. Your vets may have a plan available like mine. I pay a direct debit monthly. All vaccinations, all worm treatment , all flea and tick plus lots more included. Ask your vet.

But you don't have to buy the medication from your vet.

Get a prescription and buy online from a pet pharmacy - it's much much cheaper.

It is, but be aware clients doing this pushes up prices elsewhere, like consult fees and treatment for sick animals. Profit has to be made somewhere.

Also what pp up thread is doing is illegal. Most vets will no longer hand over paper prescriptions, they're sent direct to the pharmacy of your choice and copy's are no longer acceptable to most pharmacies.

I read your title while half asleep, and wondered “What are online fleas?” Grin
I think I was envisaging a new version of computer viruses and worms…

Then you have to treat the whole house, carpets etc & vacuum all mattresses. Been there & it's a nightmare!! I choose to prevent.

It does, but I'm not going to spend double or even triple the amount I need to spend on routine treatment 🤷🏻‍♀️
