Ideas to say thank you?

We are on holidays. Poor DDog has had a tough time, as got sick the day we left (day 2 at the sitters), and the sitter has been over and back to vet about drips, antibiotics, change of diet, getting sick and diarrhoea, and dealing with giving a bath....(dog is not a fan of baths...).

DDog is now released from daily vet treatment (and back to minders overnight) with treatment plan and long term diet change. We'll collect when we get home on Saturday.

What should I add to a tip that is double the minders fee to say thank you? We're in Amsterdam for another day and going through Schipol.

(Also, I am allergic to dog hair so this is DH and DD's dog, nothing to do with me, they are officially responsible for everything to do with DDog but I still seem to be the person who worries and organises a fair amount...although Dh has organised sitter and is dealing with it all this week in fairness).

are you paying them double? I’d say that’s enough but maybe flowers or wine?

Well, Dh is reckoning that we need to give the same again as a tip. DDog was in vet on Sunday, all day Monday and all day Tuesday but was with minder overnight both nights before discharge. And kept in close contact with Dh, hroughout, as well as going to vist both mon and ties during the day.

We are relatively new to this, as we only got DDog last year (as I am allergic to cat and dog hair as part of my wide range of allergies). And minders never entered the equation for Dh growing up (we were NOT a pet household growing up) - that DDog came with them on domestic holidays growing up.

So DH is thinking recompense for vet, DDog being ill (not her fault, not minders either) and to deal with the the extra bath needed, and things like being sick (and other boldly fluids) in her house. All warrants giving her the equivalent of the same as her original fee as a "tip". He hasn't discussed with her, only me.

And we don't know if she/her family drinks alcohol so he's not keen to "bring home a bottle" for her.

Are we thinking wrong?

I think paying double with a nice thank you card is all that’s needed

Thanks Bangers, that relieves my mind at least

Yes I agree paying more and a nice Thankyou card should be enough! You can never go too far wrong with chocolates either xx
