Just noticed doggo licking her chest. Then saw all those scans all over her front! Also some on her legs! Any ideas????

Number 1 idea would be taking her to the vets.

Could it be Alabama Rot? A dog died recently near us from this so I would definitely get your dog checked by a vet as soon as possible.

Ouch, my dog has various allergies and can get little bumps but not as bad as that! It looks quite serious.

FedUpToTheBackTooth · 26/07/2022 16:02

It could be some sort of mite. Is it too early for Harvest mites?

nodiggetynodoubt · 26/07/2022 16:02

Got an appt at the vets in an hour. Just stressing now! She seems ok in herself luckily but she's covered in scabs 😞

My thought went to Alabama Rot too. Whereabouts in the country are you?

Worcestershire. She's at the vets with DH this very minute. Anxiously waiting for an update

You were right! Vet said most likely a skin infection caused by mites. Her current flea treatment doesn't cover mites apparently so will need to investigate that.

I'm so glad you have an answer and at least mites are treatable!

Hopefully she'll feel much better soon.

Ours got bites like that when we got bed bugs (we still have no idea how.. but dh has to stay away for work so we suspect they came home with him!)
They don't live on people or dogs but come out at night to feed. It was a horrifying discovery! So can I just suggest you turn over your mattress and check your bed frame just in case?! We had NO idea til the dog got some scabs like that on her belly!

Go to vets could be dermatitis.
