Surely no one in their right mind would pay this money.

This is taking greeders to a next level

No to mention the colour is impossible for a pure bred chow to produce so there must be something else thrown in the mix at some point.

They same people have other adverts for over £5000 for dogs too. Poor animals just being bred as a cash cow.

Don’t worry, you’ll pick one up in a rescue centre for £250. Bloody disgusting - shelters are full to the brim.
Dogs can’t be rehomed because they’re all “adult only” or older dogs that nobody wants and they won’t even give them a chance. 💔

I have been looking for a rescue dog. I have a cat which excludes me from about 90% of the dogs on rescue sites. I am not experienced enough to take on a nervous, guarding, massive behavioural issues. Excludes me from the next 5%. I don't live in a quiet rural area with no other dogs for miles. Excludes me from the other 5%. So I'm getting a puppy.
And brace for the haters....

Just remember that each one of those dogs that don't fit your lifestyle, started off as an innocent puppy, and some do get signed over to rescue precisely because they're not cat friendly, or can't cope with a busy town lifestyle. You'll need to do lots of prep for your cat's sake (most cats HATE being pestered by puppies).

@bunnygeek my Dcat is used to dogs. I'm not worried about her with a puppy. I would be worried with a full grown adult dog who can't be rehomed with cats. I can train a puppy. An adult dog might just kill her!! Even if I was happy to try the rescue centres won't give us one! And I'm not getting rid of my Dcat!

Unfortunately whenever rescues get a dog in that they know could live with a dog-savvy cat, there's usually at least 20-30 families (if not more) queued up to get that dog. Cat-savvy rescue dogs are very high in demand! Good news for the dogs as they'll rarely be available for more than a few days, bad news for the queue of people trying to adopt one.
