Flea dust or dead tick?

We've just come back from a holiday in Wales and whilst there my dog got 5 ticks! We kept spotting and removing them and also treated him with frontline. Quite the week as he has never had even one before in his life 🤪 Now we are home I was stroking him and around the scruff of his neck there is a little sore and a load of what looks like black dust. Nothing is alive, or at all bug-like. I've brushed a lot of it out now but there is a picture attached. I am wondering if it's a dried up dead tick that's been killed by the frontline, or if perhaps we have a new problem now and it's flea dirt?! I can't see any of the dust anywhere else on him but he's tri-colour so it's not easy to see.

Keep brushing him daily as the flea treatment kills the fleas not the eggs.

It's def flea dirt. There will be love fleas somewhere I hate to say. Frontline doesn't work on my dog for either fleas or ticks (major tick zone here). Be vigilant - it only takes 1 flea for the whole cycle to start again. Goodluck!

My dog had this round where a tick was and I assumed it was just the dirt.
