Will this affect my dog in the long term...

Some months ago I left my abusive partner, I took the dog with me as I was concerned for her safety, I lived for a month in a 'dog friendly' Air B&B, which was a little cramped for us both, then my sister offered us space in her home till I was able to find permanent accommodation, next month I'll be moving into a property and she'll be coming with me, despite all this upheaval she seems in very good spirits but I'm worried all this will affect her mentally in the long term, I love her very much and I've done my best to ensure she gets as much care and attention as possible but I still worry about the impact this may have on her in the long term, does anyone have a similar experience and could you advise ?

Well no Flowers

Or how could anyone take their dog on hols Grin

You are doing EVERYTHING Flowers

GreenManalishi · 15/07/2022 16:51

Absolutely not, they don't have the same frame of reference as a human, as long as she's with her pack, wherever that is, she will be fine. Well done on the big change and good luck

Motorina · 15/07/2022 17:06

She's been with her favourite human all the way through? She'll be good.

Mollyplop999 · 15/07/2022 17:08

How lucky she is to have such a lovely owner. She will be fine as she is with you and that is all that is important to her.

dolphinsarentcommon · 15/07/2022 17:08

Sounds like you've done all you can OP, and I agree that so long as she's with you she won't care where it is.

DisforDarkChocolate · 15/07/2022 17:11

Sounds like you have been a loving consistent presence, she'll be fine.

Ilikewinter · 15/07/2022 17:12

Honestly this wont affect her as shes with her favourite human, youve done the absolute best thing for both of you.....I hope the future brings you everything you wish for 💐

Takingthepmaybe · 15/07/2022 17:21

Being with you more important than where she is being with you!

Takingthepmaybe · 15/07/2022 17:21

Dog pic puhlease

SarahSissions · 15/07/2022 17:24

She’ll be fine. You sound like you are doing a great job.
and well done on leaving what must have been a very frightening situation

KangarooKenny · 15/07/2022 18:01

As long as she’s with someone she loves she’ll be ok.

ddeey · 15/07/2022 19:16

My dog lived through some tough times with me and honestly saved my life i reckon. She slept on floors with me, cuddled in our sleeping bag when i fled my abusive ex and had nowhere to live. Travelled from place to place with me for over 6 months, with just a suitcase between us. She is the most wonderful, loyal, happy, healthy and loving dog. You would never know she had been through anything crap - except for maybe the incredibly strong bond we have. Which it may have only strengthened.

ddeey · 15/07/2022 19:18

Also - HUGE congratulations for what you have done. Our journeys sound quite similar and its the BEST thing you will ever do. Hold on to it and be strong - you've done something amazing xxx

Ahhhh mate
Rarely do I come across people on mumsnet who I instantly like but you...you are one!

I love that you care so much.
Your doggy won't care a thing as long as she is with you. Bless you both. Thanks for being a great dog mum ❤

MollyWoppitt · 15/07/2022 22:19

Honestly dont worry.
