The estate agent arriving at agreed time to take photos of the house.Ten minutes before I'm prepared, cleaned house and cleared our hoarded stuff and hidden in loft..check.Youngest told to get ready sort old dog out lead on e.t.c...check.Young puppy harness on just about to get treats and poo bags...check.Dogs will be out on drive so estate agent can come in peacefully hopefully and I'll follow him in....check.

Estate agent arrives ten minutes early...all hell breaks loose..boy not ready, puppy going nuts barking out of window at Estate agent, customer rings me on phone.I rush out talk Estate agent new dog he's rare usual stuff and can I bring him out first.Great should be ok.Estate comes bounding down the driveway and goes to pat the dog.Puppy lunches at his lovely antique type camera and knocks it crashing to onto driveway.

Oh sh..t, estate agent( thirty years experience he informed me before)and yours say god I hope its ok and Estate agent adds I hope it still works as he picks it up.He checks it and then lunches again at dog to pat his head.Wth I tell him it'll be your glasses next and I pull puppy away.

I can't believe that just happened.

Anyone got a story?😀

Shouldn’t pet someone’s dog without permission first anyway.

nothing annoys me more than if my dog is having a bouncy moment and a stranger then offers a hello or praise. Took me ages to teach my dog to ignore people because people on walks would make calling noises to the cute puppy when I was trying to teach him to focus on me.

Yep I find it really difficult when people ask if they can pet the puppy, kids especially.I try to appear polite but firm, saying I'm training him but you really want to chat about him too because they're not seen alot now ,the film..101 and now the kids programme are very well known.I'm making great strides getting him to ignore people but it all falls apart when that happens.
Just wondered how you deal with it?

I once had a kid rush up to my dog. throw her arms around dog's neck and hug her tight.

I had the dog in my arms at the time, she's a small breed and was a puppy - I used to take her on very long walks and so would end up carrying her at times during such walks.

It happened so quickly I didn't have time to react. Poor dog pulled her head back and looked at me in a slightly shocked, get this hugging person off me, way but otherwise didn't react.

The child's head was right on the level with my dog's head. It could have all ended so tragically if dog had reacted differently.
