They absolutely love her, she's always getting them, but this time we're on holiday in the New Forest - I'm so afraid it's a deer tick and shell get Lyme disease! the area is red and swollen to maybe the size of a 50p coin. It's bleeding and there's no tick to be seen, just the puncture wound. I've only known her to have one other reaction as dramatic as that, but that was from an ordinary sheep tick. Does anyone know if a nasty initial reaction is linked with the risk of Lyme disease or is it 50/50 that they can have one without the other? We've bathed it in saline and she'll see a vet tomorrow if it's still looking dodgy. She's fine in herself.
