We were talking about it for other a year.Even though we already have an old dog my wife really wanted a puppy, a pug.I wasn't keen because i thought it a big commitment but I new i had to give in eventually. I prefered a black pug but DW really wanted a tan one.This went on for ages.If we were going to have another small dog i really wanted some choice in the matter but I knew my wife and when she's set on something there's not alot that can stop her ,especially me .
Then one day out walking i saw him/her stretched across a driveway looking really majestic with the head held held like he owned the place with the owner digging away in the garden.I put it to DW and both of us started researching. Like all dogs there was the good and the bad.DW started secretly going with the idea,but I really didn't know how much she was into the breed.She started talking about having both.I thought oh god not two puppies,now that's a really big commitment.
I said look can we talk about it in November when my job calms down and have more time to train.But it all went quiet, another minor drama started with one of the kids.
Then two weeks later she started smiling alot at me,now we've been married an age so this doesn't happen alot now.I said what have you done thinking oh god I've got a good idea but not totally sure.She said don't get annoyed but I've bought one.
I had to laugh and instantly I felt excited, a new member of the family.
Now I've got two dogs on my lap and I love them both.One sitting up majestically looking straight at me with weirdly human like green eyes because he knows breakfast is a bit late but also he's thinking other things, I'm thinking 🤔. Puppy was toilet trained when we got him at four months, he's turned the corner with training which thinking back hasn't taken that long which is a shock. He's still a bit sneeky,doing stuff when I'm not looking but he's my best mate now.
Anyway just got to let him off the lead now because old dog has been a bit slow lately and I do love a long walk at weekends . So puppies are not all bad and fifteen years is going to be alot of fun for me ..and DW ,she really loves him too..so it's all good at the moment. Teenage years here we come,but I've got a ton of experience with that anyway,but two have left home now.Nc justgivein😀
