Am I in the doghouse or is he enjoying being lazy?

I have a terrier cocker cross, 3 years old, lovely boy, loves his walks (3 per day) and is lovely and chilled at home.

He's usually left home alone 4 times a week for 3 hours at a time. Today I've had to leave him for 5.5 hours which I've never done before (it was an emergency).

I thought he'd go loopey when I got home and he was excited to see me but after a quick toilet stop in the back garden he's gone straight back to bed. There's no signs that he's done anything other than sleep all day either.

I can't work out if he's grumpy with me or he's enjoying being lazy. Im wondering of 3 walks a day, every day is OTT!

I think it depends on dog, some need lots of walks some don’t
i have crazy spaniel and that many walks would send him crackers. He has one 40min walk incorporating training and a blast about them a few shorter training sessions during the day and that’s enough for him
