Muzzle Recommendations

We are taking our dog to the continent where she'll need to wear a muzzle to go on public transport. She's a very soft poodle cross who has never had to wear a muzzle before. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best type to buy that will be most comfortable and least likely to upset her? She'll need to do a bit of walking on lead while wearing it but it'll be for fairly short periods of time. Thanks

You need to get the Baskerville design which looks a bit like a basket and allows the dog to pant and drink, they come in different sizes. I think you need to use pate to get them used to it in advance.
Don't get the tight fitting cloth type which are to stop them biting the vet as they can't pant or drink in them.

Agree with the above and you need to start now, really slowly so it is always a positive experience.

You will need to do a lot of training to get her used to the muzzle. Check out chirag Patel - his videos are excellent

Lots of treats, treats through the muzzle and really short but often.

Definitely baskerville,
you can put them in hot water to change the shape- Both my long nosed dogs accepted a Baskerville with no prior training- but it was for fast galloping where their minds were on galloping.
Baskerville they can pant drink and vomit.

Make sure it’s really well adjusted beforehand- and doesn’t rub her face anywhere.

Thank you for the recommendations, I've ordered a Baskerville muzzle and will get some paté. Will start the training when it arrives
