Is my dog passport still valid as I got it in Dec 2020?

I have read online that it is AND isn't?!

The gov website says it is, and just about every other website says they are not valid at all anymore. So I at a loss.

My pet passport is from 2020 and her rabies jab hasn't expired and hoping to take her to France with us in August.

Vet charges £215 for a health certificate

Has anyone got a pet passport from 2020 or earlier and can still use it?

No you need an Animal Health Certificate to take your pet abroad now because we are not part of the EU anymore

I think passports are only valid if they were issued by a European country but you’d need to check

Ah it was this line that was confusing me but that's for travel back IN to the country.

Aaahhh bloody brexit.

Unless you have an up to date EU pet passport (not including the U.K.) then you will need an Animal Health Certificate issued by a vet no more than 10 days before travel.
Abbeywell vets near Folkestone charge £99 iirc- I've not used them, but apparently they take all the details before you arrive then just have to check the dogs microchip at the appointment. There is a similar vet near Portsmouth.
The AHC is valid for one trip of up to 4 months. You will still have to visit a vet in France 24-120 hours before returning to the U.K. for a worming treatment.

But that link appears to be about re-entering the UK, not travelling to France?

As @coffeecupsandfairylights you may enter the UK using a valid UK passport, however, it is not valid for entry into Europe. For entry into Europe you need an AHC.

Amazing thank you, £99 is a bargain I'm going to use them. Thank you so much!

@Mrstumbletap I would book your appointment with them now as I know they are very, very busy in August as they are mainly a standard vets.
