Puppy 8mo - constipated

Hi, looking for advice please

our puppy was clearly constipated yesterday, form the minute she woke up, trying to push/poo but nothing forthcoming, until something emerged but she couldn’t fully push it out (this was about 3oc at this stage)

she couldn’t manage a walk as she kept stopping to try to poo.

the groomer was booked so she was a great help and soaked the lump, cleaned up her rear end and I’m hoping it’s enough to clear the impact.

she’s definitely more herself today and went on a highly active run off lead, full of beans again… but still licking her bum a lot but no longer straining….

what sound I add to her diet? I don’t think she’s gone to the toilet today so I’m not sure we are out of the woods.

she is not a savage she eats when hungry and will leave food, she is on dry puppy food and always has access to water.

should I add anything from today to her diet to help?? Or any other tips!

thank you

I think I would have a quick chat with a vet tbh. If she has had her normal diet etc it is unusual to be constipated.I would want to rule out why she has a blockage and check it was just constipation.

Hope she feels better soon

Thanks polly - I sent the vets a message last night asking for a non emergency appointment today, she’s just not right (but not as bad). Hopefully she will be seen this afternoon. Thank you
