Absolutel Dogs

We are getting rescue dog later this year, we are thinking of following the absolute dogs concept training methods, but their resources seem quite expensive.

What are your experiences of their approach? Is it worth the money?

Their concepts are great and they have good theory behind them. Lauren and Tom can be a bit grating (but you tend to get used to it!)

If you follow the online courses you do need to be self motivated to work through them and this can be hard for some people.

Results are not immediate as with all dog training.

The resources tend to get repeated and tweaked over and over again so once you have one resource you will have a good foundation of how they work.

However Absolute dog is extremely generous with their products and members do get a lot of free stuff and support via facebook etc.

Which product are you thinking of getting?

They do big sales throughout the year if the timing works for you

Sexier than a squirrel and the new loose lead walking is not too expensive and will give you a good foundation and see if you like the approach.

I did their Naughty but Nice course quite a few years ago now. It was expensive but I stumbled across it just at the point when I had reached the end of my tether and it was worth every penny.
It transformed my thinking and attitude, I embraced it and the dogs loved it. We all learnt so much.
At the end of the course I understood the concepts and was happy to go off and continue on my own not least because Tom and Lauren and their endless optimism were beyond irritating.
It would be a brilliant foundation for your dog but they do give a lot away for free so you might find enough to give it a try that way

Thanks everyone, we will definitely try with the free stuff and if it helps shell out. Our rescue is coming from abroad, so we aren’t yet sure what issues it might have that will need extra work.
