Puppy in heat humping my arm!

My mini poodle is having her 1st heat and been bleeding for 11 days now. She has now started licking my hand and trying to hump my arm. I assume its just haywire hormones, but read it could be trying to show dominance over me. How long might this go on for?

Nothing to do with dominance. Just over excitement. Give her some space to calm down and work on calming activities.

Her season can last for 4 weeks (bleeding less than that ) but high levels of progesterone will hang around for about 65 days and can affect her behaviour and how she feels during this time

Thank you. My previous bitches (abroad) were spayed before their 1st season, so I feel a bit like a new mum with all this and learning as we go.

Forget all that dominance rubbish, as that is what it is. It's just nature/hormones. My toy poodle bitch constantly humped a soft toy - it was pale coloured and looked like a murder scene after a while. What a mess! They can go a little crazy, but they come back to themselves eventually.
