Life with the teenage twat dog

The teenage twat poodle is jealous of me giving anything else my attention . So yesterday lunch in a bid to gain my attention he stood right in front of the TV!
Please excuse the dog zone of my kitchen everyday I tidy their sofa area and by lunch time they have had a wrestling match and there are cushions everywhere.

I think he wanted your lunch, not your attention. Look at how starved and unloved and sad he looks!!! Bad dog mamma!

Standards are the best dogs, so blummin intelligent and loyal with razor-sharp personalities (I say this as a lab-mum, but my parents had a standard when i was a teen and he was awesome).

How old is he? Did you go to any puppy training early on?

He might be a teenage twat dog, but he’s your teenage twat dog. He’s gorgeous. 😍

Haha mine will insert himself into anything I'm doing if he's attention seeking. He lives for a game of getting so this has resulted in him dropping a ball everywhere from my laptop to my food shopping bag as I unpack it

He's definitely old enough to know better

He is 16months old and yes I have done a huge amount of training. He is very polite with other dogs, but walks mostly well has rock solid recall and never interferes with strangers on walks.
He just thinks he's a blooming cat and that is entitled to get on every surface not matter what we do.
As for food he's a typical poodle you have to virtually introduce him to each individual kibble at every meal.

My DDog is 16 months old too and has been a complete twat this week too! He has good recall so comes back when it's time to go home etc but has developed a sudden resistance to having his lead clipped on.

He lies on the grass thrashing around like a massive twat. It's like wrestling a toddler into a car seat. He reminds me of the scene in Lord of the Rings where Sam puts Gollum on a lead 'it burns, it burns'. And then after a few attempts to bite the lead he's back to normal and trots along nicely.

I've taken to calling him dick dog.

And yes, he's trained. Yes, he went to puppy school and had his bronze award. He's just still a dick dog.

Mount the tv on the wall. Remove that cabinet, he is using to see out the window not to deprive you of telly viewing.

If you do those things I bet his next move will be paws up on the windowsill

Sadly not if he wants to look out the window he just pops up on the window sill. He even lies on the window sill when no one is looking!

😂 Having lived with a poodle for 16 years who was a teenager way into old age, I very much sympathise 🤣

It really doesn't improve my dog is 7 and a mix of teenager and toddlers. Stroppy, moody and thinks he knows everything like a teenager, has overtired tantrums and puts everything in his mouth like a toddler.

I don't know but I can't get past you calling your dog a twat. A bit inappropriate , don't you think!

He jumped UP on the dining table this morning when I was eating my breakfast as he decided he wanted my cereal.

He's four and should know better!

One of my aunt's had a poodle when I was a dc.. It was white. And huge. And her name was Mandy!!
Best ddog name ever!

Mine is grown up but can still be a twat occasionally and I just love those moments as it's his personality showing through 😁
