Dog pee rug

Hi sorry I was wondering if anybody here could help me?
My old lady dog recently had a bit of an infection (all good now) but she peed some extremely stinky pee along the top of my huge rug. It stinks, so bad.
I’ve carpet cleaned it and I think I’ve made it worse! I’ve hands and knees poured anti bac cleaner and scrubbed it but the smell is horrific still and we just can’t sit in there, it’s burns the nostrils!

The rug is wool and cost a fortune so I’d rather save it but I guess I might have to just replace it.

Anyone got any ideas? I will literally try anything!

I don't have a dog but I think you're supposed to use a cleaner that removes the enzymes to avoid attracting a repeat performance.

If still no joy chuck it you'll never have peace of mind otherwise

The stuff I used in the carpet cleaner machine was supposed to be that enzyme stuff but I do honestly think it’s made it worse. I might actually see what they have the in pet shop!
I know ideally I want to replace the rug but 1. Moneyyy 2. What if she does it again Shock

Simple Solution pet cleaner - the extra strength stuff. Pour it on (absolutely saturate the area), leave it for a good half an hour or more, blot it up, leave it to dry (it'll take a couple of days) and repeat it as much as often as necessary. It might take 2-3 attempts if it's truly soaked through, though.

I’d try washing it with biological washing powder .

I've no idea about the cleaning but if you do end up replacing, I've seen adverts for Ruggable which is a machine washable rug

Thanks! I have ordered simple solution extreme arriving tomorrow, I’m genuinely excited to try it!!
I usually use those daft tabs for washing but I will also get some bio washing powder when I pop to shops over the weekend.
I did try to blot up the pee as soon as I’d noticed it but she does have big wees and was drinking lots of water because of being poorly so I feel like 2 or 3 accidents is probably about 7 loads of normal pee. Seems extra stinky too but I imagine it’s because of the infection. Poor lady!
