…it’s my old boy’s first day on tramadol and he is completely off his face 😂 he keeps wandering up to me, getting right up in my face and staring at me with these huge round eyes! He’s the happiest he’s been in a long time though, back to his old self (but high as a kite 😂 ).

tabulahrasa · 15/04/2022 09:11

Lol

I’m currently on tramadol - if he’s not less spacey in a few days you might want to talk to the vet about lowering the dose a wee bit. Turns out there’s a fine line between it working and being wasted Blush

SockFluffInTheBath · 15/04/2022 12:24

@tabulahrasa that’s good to know, will do. It’s a temporary measure till the librela (hopefully) kicks in. He was on gabapentin but it was really knocking him around and at his age the vet doesn’t want to go the nsaid route.

@Happenchance that’s funny 🤣

He's clearly thanking you for helping him get off his face.

'Whoooah man, this be some good shit!' 😂

SleepWoof · 15/04/2022 13:32

When my hound had methadone after dental surgery she was both hilarious and terrifying- all glassy eyed but staring at me like she would murder me in my sleep.

What happened was I mentioned it in passing and they went Shock why did you not tell us?

And I went, um, well the pain was finally better and I just assumed it was a side effect and it was better than the pain and not as strong as morphine...so...Blush

Apparently no, you are in fact supposed to be fairly functional, rofl.

So I’m now on slightly less and am much more normal.

SockFluffInTheBath · 15/04/2022 14:47

@SleepWoof it’s very peculiar, isn’t it!

This is him 2 mins ago with the afternoon dose kicking in…

It’s not funny really but…

tabulahrasa · 15/04/2022 16:47

Ooh, he looks like mine, except for the expression, lol

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/04/2022 16:50

Awwww sweet boy, lol

SockFluffInTheBath · 15/04/2022 17:40

@tabulahrasa he’s functional enough that he goes out to wee, remembers where his dinner is so I suppose that will do fine 🤣

I hope you’re doing ok.

iklboo · 15/04/2022 22:35

Motorina · 16/04/2022 08:33

Ahhhhh he's gorgeous!

I remember when one of mine was on it. Totally off her tits. I swear she was seeing things. It was hilarious.

SockFluffInTheBath · 16/04/2022 11:20

You or your dog? Wink

He seems a bit more with it this morning, the comedy stoned routine seems to be ending Grin

He's loving life 😂. Hope he feels better soon

waterlego · 16/04/2022 11:27

Oh bless him 😂

We had to give our dog Valium last fireworks night and he was properly off his tits. I sort of felt really sad for him but also highly amused.
