Hi everyone just wondering if people could give recommendations for a good shampoo ? Our six month old cocker has been rolling in extremely stinky god knows what over the past few days and I need to bath him. I’m just worried about stripping too much oil out of his fur. Any tips /recommendations would be great Smile

I use Animology Puppy Shampoo for our 4yo beagle :)

Hi @fairylightsandwaxmelts thanks for your reply Smile how often do you bath your pup?

Maybe once every 2-3 months with shampoo - more often in winter as he ends up ridiculously mucky sometimes Grin

He's a beagle though so he's pretty "wipe clean" in terms of coat maintenance - he has a dry robe that I shove him in after mucky walks and generally that cleans him up well enough :)

However I find after 2-3 months that he gets a bit whiffy so in the tub he goes Grin

I have 6 dogs, various breeds/mixes/coat types. They seldom need bathed but I buy my grooming products from Technogroom, (technogroom.co.uk or 01555 771555), they're fantastic and will chat through the various options with you and recommend the best one. (I have no link to this company whatsoever, apart from being a customer of course!)

In the meantime, if Ddog is really minging, you can rub a bit of tomato ketchup in to the particularly stinky bits (usually around the neck/collar if they've rolled in something). Rub it in, leave for about 15 minutes then rinse it well, and you'll find that it's really reduced the smell.

Mine don’t tend to need baths between grooms, but on the occasions they do I use this. Works well for all cost types, never caused a problem and smells lovely.
